The Teaching

Karma & Mind

‘Guru’ means Spiritual Guide. A Spiritual Guide can be eastern, western, male, female, ordained or lay. Our spiritual teacher who leads us to correct spiritual paths is our Spiritual Guide. To understand who our Spiritual Guide is we need to understand what is the correct spiritual path. A spiritual practice which leads us to the state of pure happiness is a correct spiritual path, such as the practice of renunciation, the supreme good heart – bodhichitta, and the correct view – emptiness. These are correct spiritual paths because these practices give us the ability to control our delusions – our anger, attachment and self-grasping – so we will experience pure happiness.

Quote of the Day

We should know that right now our mind is under the control of delusions so we have no opportunity to experience pure happiness. Happiness that we normally experience from eating, drinking, sex and so forth are not real happiness; they are just a reduction of our previous problems. Their real nature is suffering. We will experience pure happiness only through following correct spiritual paths. We definitely need to follow correct spiritual paths by relying upon our Spiritual Guide.

A Meaningful Holiday

This Festival has been a good vacation. It is very surreal to get teachings on bliss and emptiness in a children’s pureland!
